The Treaty of Sunshine Across the Equator: Exploration of KJI Solar Nigeria Project
Under the dual impetus of the "the Belt and Road" initiative and the global energy transformation, the African continent is becoming a new blue ocean of photovoltaic industry.
Recently, cross-border new energy went to Nigeria in West Africa to conduct on-site investigations of a 1.08MW photovoltaic project in a local industrial park, laying the
foundation for subsequent design and construction. This cross equatorial 'Sunshine Pact' is not only a technical investigation, but also an important step in China Africa green
energy cooperation.
Nigeria is the largest economy in Africa, but power shortages have long constrained its development - only 40% of the country's population has access to stable electricity, and
businesses rely on high cost diesel generators. At the same time, the country has an average of over 2000 hours of sunshine per year, indicating enormous potential forphotovoltaics.
This project is located in an industrial zone near Lagos. After completion, it can provide clean electricity for park enterprises, reduce energy costs by more than 30%, and have both
economic and environmental value.
During the exploration period, we actively communicated and collaborated with local partners, property owners, and relevant government departments. In the communication with
partners, the team shared the company's advanced technology and rich experience in the photovoltaic field, and also understood the needs and characteristics of the local market,
providing ideas for the localization implementation of the project. The communication with the owner was more in-depth and detailed. The team listened in detail to the owner's expectations and requirements for the project, including power
generation targets, investment budgets, construction periods, etc., and optimized and adjusted the exploration plan based on this information.
The exploration tour of the 1.08MW photovoltaic project in Nigeria has shown us the enormous potential of photovoltaic power generation projects in this land full of opportunities
and challenges.Although we encountered some difficulties during the process, we firmly believe that with the joint efforts of the team and close cooperation with local parties,
the project will be successfully implemented.
From Chinese technology to African applications, we are not only building power plants, but also building bridges for sustainable development.
